Dua Lipa is a British singer/songwriter who was born in London United Kingdom on August 22nd 1995. The self-titled debut album was released in 2017, after she been signed by Warner Bros Records. It peaked at number three on the U.K. Albums Chart and released eight singles which included Be The One I.D.G.A.F as well as the U.K. Number One song New Rules which peaked at sixth on the charts in the United States. Lipa is the recipient of Brit Awards in 2018 in the categories of British Female Artist, British Breakthrough Act and British. Additionally, the platinum album has been praised in multiple countries. Dua Lipa was born on 22nd August 1995 in London in the UK to Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. She has Bosnian roots through her grandmother. Her ancestry can be traced back to Peja the city of Kosovo. Two of Lipa's grandfathers were historians. Lipa is the younger sister of Rina Lipa and an older brother called Gjin. The musical influence of Lipa's came from her father, who is the guitarist and singer of Kosovan The rock band Oda. While at the house, her father would play his original compositions along with songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing at the age of five. When she was nine, she learned how to sing. Lipa recorded If I Ain't Got You from Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera on YouTube. Lipa was given a recording contract from Warner Bros.
